Here we are crashing into the finish line of 2025. Another year almost done. For a lot of us, we're hoping that the energy is a lot lighter as we finish this year and slide on into the new year in just a couple of months time. But it's not quite over yet. We are now in the last Mercury retrograde for the year. It will go until the 30th November and this time it is travelling through the sign of Sagittarius.
Mercury usually goes retrograde about three, maybe four times a year. It's not the only planet to go retrograde but it is the one that we know best. Whatever planet is in retrograde, we will feel the effects because things that are associated with that planet will start to be delayed or stalled. Mercury is the planet of communication, ideas, learning, information and of transport. Mercury is also known as the trickster of the planets and this energy can intensify during retrograde.

" Some blame Mercury retrograde for all chaos that happens in their lives".
-Catherine Boeckmann-
So here are some common effects of Mercury retrograde:
Technology and appliances that were working perfectly, start to play up or stop working altogether;
You lose things like your keys;
You purchase a big ticket item, only to find it on sale a couple of weeks later;
You don't read the small print in a document and it comes back to bite you in the ass, costing you dearly;
Communications such as texts, emails, calls, get missed or not delivered;
Flights are delayed, travel plans cancelled;
You forget meetings or get times, or dates wrong or other participants do;
Your car breaks down or you get delayed because of an accident or traffic jam.
Remember these things can still go wrong when Mercury isn't in retrograde but they will happen more frequently when it is.
What a lot of people don't realise is that Mercury retrograde is also a great time to revisit things you started in a previous retrograde or finish off languishing projects; and it's not just projects you get to revisit. You may find during Mercury retrograde that you run into an ex and get the closure you've been needing or that job you wanted becomes available again and you get to reapply. Other cool things that can happen in Mercury retrograde are:
Hearing from old friends or family members;
Something you've lost previously, all of a sudden turns up;
You have an appliance break down and you end up getting a better one to replace it (just don't buy it in Mercury retrograde. Research and then buy when Mercury goes direct);
You want to return something and you have no trouble getting a refund;
You renegotiate a contract or agreement in your favour.
The thing is, is that it really is the way you deal with Mercury retrograde that determines whether it causes havoc or not. So double and triple check travel plans and meeting times. Read contracts several times to ensure you understand all the small print. Put things back where they belong so they don't go missing and finally be forgiving if a friend says something off the cuff. Remember it may be harder to communicate effectively at this time, so listen better and ensure you are expressing yourself clearly.

MERCURY RETROGRADE IN SAGITTARIUS
So, what can you focus on during this Mercury retrograde? Because it's traveling through Sagittarius, it's a good time to revisit the big picture of your life. Are you living in accordance with this bigger picture or are you bogged down in details? Take a look back at your life and count your blessings and see how far you have come. It's a good time to revisit a place you've been to before if you really have to travel at this time. Remember to double check all your itinerary and be prepared for delays and mix ups. You could also think about doing some study, although don't sign up until after retrograde. You really need to keep a sense of humour about you and be sensitive to others as you are more likely to say something inappropriate at this time. Sometimes it's better to to say nothing.
If you are interested in planning your life out with the help of your birth chart and Moonology™, I am now offering Moonology™ readings. These readings show you where during the year is the best time for working on nearly every part of your life using the New Moon and Full Moon to manifest the life you want. By also knowing your birth chart, you can see which house Mercury retrograde is going through, which gives you a more detailed look at where you need to be aware of having delays and revisions. It is absolutely fascinating. During these readings I also give you an intuitive reading to help get you started, along with tips and tricks to make the most of the information I provide to you. All you need is your birth date, birth time and birthplace. The appointments are starting before the end of November, so if you are interested please contact me through this website and I'll place you on the waiting list.
So, there you have it! Mercury retrograde isn't all that bad.The easiest way to remember how to tread during the retrograde period is to do the "re's" - renew, revisit, reapply, review, reflect, revise, revamp, repair, rethink, refrain, research, return, reorganise, retrieve, reconnect, resolve and repeat. And keep your cool.
Until next time...
